Parameters set as Revolution value from COIL feature not accepted

Hi Guys,

Good day to all. I Just want to ask something regarding Parameters. I was was trying to create a Thread of a customized Screw M8 and made some Parameter to be used for some functions.

Now, is the problem. When I input the parameters on the REVOLUTION fields of the COIL feature it does not accept the parameters value (ThreadLG=50).

Is it possible to input Parameters value or only plain numbers?

Thank you for any feedbacks. Appreciate it.

Is there a mismatch in units? For instance, is it expecting a unit of length, but ThreadLG is unitless?

Revolution is a unitless value.

I haven't checked but ThreadLG sounds like thread length, which of course is mm (or in) units.

Try dividing by 1mm to cancel units.

if ThreadLG=50 do you really want 50 threads or do you really want to set it to pitch and legth rather than pitch and revolutions?

Attach the file here.

Why don't you always automatically attach files here.

Good day to all.

@Bishop - Thank you for the info.

@JD - The best would be pitch & length. But, for this instance I do wanted to make a full thread with the rod length is equal to 50mm.

- Sorry for not attaching the file automatically as it is not that complex to make the part. Its just a rod Dia. 8mm x 50mm LG.

Then why do you have it set to create 50 threads (Revolution)? Is your Pitch=1

Did you do the cancelation of the mm units for Revolution (a ul parameter)?

No - it is more than that.

I see a sketch for thread tool that doesn't look correct.
