saecad33
I accidentally did my drawing in the xz plane and y is always 0, is there a way for me to get the drawing into the xy plane?
ReMark
Use 3DRotate. Bad advice since OP is using LT! Edited February 17, 2012 by ReMark My bad.
saecad33
what tab is that under, I don't see it
eldon
If LT is not meant for 3D, then possibly Rotate3D is not available in LT If that is the case, then find a friend with AutoCAD full.
ReMark
Argh! The dreaded LT. Curse my eyes. You can reorient the UCS in LT can't you?
saecad33
I can and can rotate my view. I just don't see the command 3d rotate
ReMark
Yeah eldon pointed out my mistake. But you can reorient your UCS right? How did you end up drawing in the wrong plane to begin with?
saecad33
I can reorient the ucs. I was using someone elses drawing as a base and didn't realize it was rotated.
ReMark
Reorient the UCS then use the regular rotate command to get your geometry back to where it belongs on the XY plane. Then change your UCS so it too is on the XY plane.
saecad33
That is what I was trying to do, but it is just not clear to me how to do it exactly. Rotate: then specify a base 0,0,0? rotation angle? or a reference? I am overly challenged I am sure for something that is obviously simple... saecad33
Ah, got it, thanks. Actually needed to be in the yx axis to rotate it out of z. Thanks so much.
ReMark
That's good to hear. You're entirely welcomed.
MSasu
Another solution: Rotate the UCS to have it XoY aligned with your drawing, move entire content to Clipboard (Cut), revert to WCS and paste the drawing back. saecad33
Oh, that really helps because I can easily work back and forth between the rotated drawing and just a plan page. thanks.
