drew in the wrong drawing of xz instead of xy

Reorient the UCS then use the regular rotate command to get your geometry back to where it belongs on the XY plane. Then change your UCS so it too is on the XY plane.

That is what I was trying to do, but it is just not clear to me how to do it exactly.

Rotate: then specify a base 0,0,0? rotation angle? or a reference? I am overly challenged I am sure for something that is obviously simple...

Another solution: Rotate the UCS to have it XoY aligned with your drawing, move entire content to Clipboard (Cut), revert to WCS and paste the drawing back.
