The drawing scale is likely either so large that you can't see the breaks in the line, or so small that the line is not long enough to display more than one segment.

To test this, change the drawing scale to 1:1 in the lower right corner of the status bar, then draw a new line 20 units long using the "Centerline" linetype.

In addition to the previous suggestions:

How are you changing this? Through your layer manager or the properties of the line itself? If through the layer manager it is not changing, then check the lines properties to see if it is set to ByLayer or if the line type is specified.

you're right !!

when i zoom in i can see the breaks

but the scale is already 1:1 and i still have to zoom in to see the breaks

I want to see the breaks without zoom in, do u know how?

thank you very much

Are you using a metric linetype (acadiso.lin) or an imperial (acad.lin)? What is the drawing, imperial or metric?

What is _LTSCALE =?

Pick a scale that's appropriate for the size of your drawing. For example, if you're working in Imperial units, changing the scalebox to 1/4"-1'-0" will make each segment display 48x larger. For a metric drawing 1:50 would make each segment appear 50x larger.

Edit, you'll have to REGEN the drawing for the linetypes to regenerate after you change the scale if you're working in Modelspace.

i solved the problem by adjusting the scale from 1:1 to 1:10

thank you all guys i really appreciate your help

but i still have one more question:D

if i use a large scale like 1:10 would it be large in hard copy too?

or it's only large on the computer

thanks a lot
