Plot Style List

We're using AutoCAD 2006 at work.
Our plot style list has around 200 .ctb files to satisfy different clients and configurations.
I'm finding it more and more difficult in picking the file I want to use and having the system recognize it. The picked choice keeps choosing a different one.
Is this a memory problem? Is the list too large?

Yes, the list has too many entries.
Get it down to about 50 or less.

If you still need access to all 200, break them up into separate directories. You could then create a toolbar macro to change the path on the fly.
