UCS and Mechanical Work

Hello,

I work for a machine shop where I am given x and z coords from cnc programs.

I have been assigned to create setup sheets that show the tool, the center point, and the part and I create points to show the tool path in 2D

The WCS displays as follows

Y

|_X

But I would like to see the following,

X

|_Z

So if I typed POINT .363, 0.00, .553 X would be up & down and Z would be right & left.

I have tried various means to achieve this no success but I don't really understand the WCS/UCS system.

I am working in 2D and I would like to plot the points exatcly as given to me from the code instead of having to convert them all

I've got a little lisp routine you can download from my website called AutoUCS. Once it's loaded you can very easily manipulate the UCS by your keyboard arrow keys. I've got a YouTube video demonstrating it.

After you perform the work you need to make sure you reset things to the WCS
