ReMark
It sounds like you are scaling your text "old school" as if you were doing on a drafting board. You ought to rethink your approach. I'd recommend looking at "Annotative Scaling". What scale are you going to be plotting this dinosaur in?
Diesel
I am going to have different scales on different projects. Are there any good how to dos on Annotative Scaling. Also what size text do you start out with on Annotative Scaling.. Thanks
ReMark
To use annotative scaling effectively one must use paper space layouts and viewports. Are you familiar with those features? It basically means you must draw all your model space objects at FULL size. You don't scale them as one would if they were being drawn on a drafting board. Tutorials can be found here at CADTutor, the AutoDesk University website and a couple of others you'll find listed under "Links" above. Example: http://www.we-r-here.com/cad/ There is one other alternative and that is to place all your dimensioning and text in your layout and none of it in model space. This method is not widely practiced yet I find it effective for the type of work I do so I can tell you it does indeed work. There are no scale lists to deal with and all the variables associated with using annotative scaling go away too. Test both methods and decide for yourself what works best for your situation. SLW210
I use 3/16" mostly and sometimes 1/8" text, occasionally 1/4" for headers, etc.. SEE THIS CHART
