77-f250-Mud Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 How do I place object lines on a general plane that was converted from a 3d station? I'm currently operating acad Mechanical. thank you in advance, Mud Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 You need to set your UCS origin to the plane's elevation. After you're done remember to return it to WCS. I also would advise always keeping your UCS icon on. Quote
rkent Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Patrick - did you post the first angle / third angle projection bowl image a while back? I meant to save the link but didn't. If you could post again or the link I would be grateful. Thanks, rkent Quote
77-f250-Mud Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 well the thing is I have a vendors acad file of a part and when I view the detail layout (flat), it looks great. But when I attempt to snap a line or a dim to part of their layout it dosn't grab because the object is on a different plane. This particular drawing has object properties in multyple planes and it's driving me nuts. Is there a way where I can simply select all objects and pull them to WCS? Sorry for the lengh of my tiny dilema. Thanks again Mud Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 rkent, yes it was me. Here's the link: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?62835-Is-this-a-first-angle-or-third-angle-projection/page2 Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 There is something called Flatshot (but I think that's for working with solids) else "Flatten" ? Quote
