mcjohn Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Hi, I'm using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and am wondering if it is possible to display contours shaded by grade? For example where contours were 0-20% grade they would be shaded blue, 20-30% shaded red and above 30% green. Alternatively, can this be done in ArcView 10? Thanks! John Quote
SLW210 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I moved this thread to the Civil 3D & LDD forum for you. Quote
Murph_map Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 If you create a surface object from the contours you can use the analysis tool and display properties to show shading (solid hatch). With ArcView NO, you would need the 3D Analy$i$ add-on ($$$$) for that. Quote
CyberAngel Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I think the question is, can you have gradient colors for the contours themselves, not the whole surface. The only color control I'm aware of is for major vs. major contours. I believe you would have to do some programming to get that effect. Even less appealing, you could create several surfaces and change the contour colors for each band. Quote
