woodman78
How can I be 100% sure that my template is set to metres. I am getting conflicts with Civil 3D and would have sworn our template was set to metres.

I believe that the best way to check the dimension system (imperial or metric) of your drawing template is to open your OPTIONS > USER PREFERENCES > DEFAULT SCALE LIST, and see which scale list is the default. Units will advise as to the insertion scale used in the drawing, but it can be changed independent of the base dimensioning system.
