Deleting hatch deletes walls?

One of our guys, on 2005, must have some odd acad variable on, because when he selects, or isolates a deck hatch, it highlights the perimeter walls and doors also. Deleting the hatch then deletes the walls.

I then went and opened the same file on 2000i, 2005, then 2007 and did not have the same problem.

Anyone have an idea what this may be?

Ends up that all it was is the "associative hatch" option was checked in his general tools-options-selection settings.

I had forgotten that that option was there in addition to just in the bhatch dialogue box.

That setting doesn't matter if you set PICKSTYLE to 0 or 1
