Autocad settings question

You need to create blank dwg, add all dimensions, linetype, text, layers, title box etc and save it as .dwt (template file-maybe read only so nobody overwrite it)

Nex time you open it and everything is in it.

If you want every new drawing to contain all your standard settings, you will have to redefine your default template under Options|Files|Template Settings.

If you have a drawing with these settings, dims, text, etc already setup then open that file and do a Saveas and when the dialog box comes up, in the lower drop down pick .dwt, this will automatically place you in the template folder defined in options, files, .... After saving proceed to erase all the objects from the drawing that wouldn't be related to a template.

Then go into options, files, template settings, and change the Default Template File Name for QNEW so that it points to the file you saved above.

Each time you pick the qnew icon or type qnew your new drawing will start using that template file (.dwt).

The next time you save or saveas the .dwt option will still be present so go to the dropdown and change back to .dwg.
