pick selection

hi there, i encountered this problem when I use autocad for the first time in the office. The problem occurs on pick selection. Example; on command prompt: erase, when i pick an object its highlights but when i pick the second object the 1st object is de-selected or not selected anymore. This behaviour follows whenever i give a command that requires pick selection. Thanks...

change the setting of your PICKADD system variable ~ you can also set it using the "Tools" ~ "Options" ~ "Selection" tab under "Selection Modes"

Also you may check the following: select the first object, press and keep pressed the SHIFT and continue to select the other objects. If it works you may change this setting: Tools > Options > Selection. Uncheck the "Use shift to add to selection".
