Which Product? Recommendations Please

Hi, i work for a relatively small asbestos management consultancy. We use AutoCAD to mark up floor plans. These plans are added to reports which are produced by our database.

Wouldnt it be cool if i could mark up plans with interactive hot spots to indicate the locations of samples and click on the hot-spots to jump straight to the relevant record in the database.

I'm sure there's an Autodesk product which could do this but being a novice i dont know.

Please advise.

I haven't explored this all that much but I know that AutoCAD has a hyperlink ability. So if you look into the help files for hyperlinking then you can add some text at the mark up and use the text as a hyperlink to a specific place in your database. Maybe someone else has a better idea but this is just off the top of my head.
