Ok....so I'm trying to copylip and viewport from one layout to another and I want to maintain the frozen layers in the viewport...is there a way to do this efficiently without having to go into the viewport and re-freeze all the layers again?
Any help on this would be appreciated!
Thanks!

In the viewport that you want to copy use the view command and save the view (with layers information) .
You may have to unlock the viewport to use the view command.
Once you copy and paste the viewport, double click inside the viewport and restore that view.

Thanks for the reply! I tried that but it didn't carry the frozen layers from the riginal viewport over. only the scale and position. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Sorry about that. I assumed that it would remember the layer settings if the layer were frozen in that viewport.
The layer state manager on the Layer Property manager will do what you want it to do. (I tried this and it does work).

I don’t know what are you trying to do but a layout can be copied (right click). After that just edit the copy.

fuccaro and anyone else reading this that's confused as to what I am doing.
When we do drawings in our office here we save it to a next revision number (ie. 5707main.dwg to 5707main1.dwg) and then we will do any change orders, clarification drawings etc. BUT, our head hauncho here want all the clarifications on a single layout. So if I'm going to be using a specific area of say the architectural plan then I'll go to the architectural floor plan layout and copyclip the viewport over to the clarifications section and just stretch the viewport to suit the area of the building that I'm working in.
Hope that made sense to most people! haha
Thanks for all the advice!
Mike
