Typically when I open AutoCAD I am looking for an existing file so I always have to delete/close the new file AutoCAD opened. Thanks! BlackBox Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 AutoCAD opens a new drawing (Drawing1.dwg) by default, based on your defined drawing template. Simply use the Open Command to navigate to, and select the desired (existing) drawing to open, and Drawing1.dwg is closed automagically. If you enter SYSVDLG at the commandline you can then look up the STARTUP command, and available system variable options 0, 1, & 2, and how they differ.
