ribeditaa Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) Is it wise to take up both Civil Engineering and Geology? What are the job opportunities if I did so? It's not a double degree course but I believe I'm allowed to do so. I wanted the job obligations of both CEs and Geologists. If not Geology then I'll probably take up Materials Engineering. CyberAngel Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I've been working on a project that involves monitoring wells. Fair warning, I don't know much about geology. We have to show a groundwater level on our profiles, but all we do is extrapolate from a few scattered readings. Once I've built a profile, I add a line to show the groundwater. Kludgy, I know, but kludgy is a way of life here. That said, there's no reason you couldn't create a groundwater surface and define it with breaklines between the sampling points. Contrary to BigAl's belief, you can display multiple profiles in one profile view. You don't need a separate LISP routine to create a profile. That functionality is built into Civil 3D. All you need is a surface, which you can build from the contours you mention, and an alignment. Quote
SLW210 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I created a new thread for your question. Civil Engineering and Geology in the Civil 3D & LDD forum. Quote
