I have Acad 2000 and someone I know uses 2002. I am happy with 2000 except that the hatch patterns are limited ( I have added a few of my own) can I take the hatch pattern file from 2002 and add it to 2000 for all those nice extra patterns?

As a related question - is there some sort of program or something out there that helps to manage hatch patterns such as removing dupes and organising them??

Thanks,
Jason

Good question. I've wondered this myself. I do know for a fact that as of Release 2006 they are forward compatible. I have a HUGE hatch resevoir that has been modified and added to over the years since R14. Every time I upgrade I replace the default acad.pat file with the one that I created back in the day and it continues to work so far. We'll see what happens with R 2007 :D

Hatch pattern should be the same in all version of AutoCAD.
