When you have to planes meet each other (perpindicularly) in 3D view, I think sometimes the program (AutoCAD 2002) doesn't understand which plane should be hidden. I have that problem right now, where the plane that should be hidden is exposed when I set it to View->Shade->Hidden.
how do I force the one that I want hidden to be hidden? Does that make sense?

Setting the SHADEMODE to HIDDEN all objects or parts of objects covered by others (solids or surfaces) will become invisible. Changing the view point, a visible objects may become invisible (cowered by the others) - exactly like in the real world.
The HIDDEN status does not reffer to a specific object but to the way the image is showed on the screen.
If do you want to hide a specific object, turn off the layer containing that object.
