iainlines
Hi, I am trying to extrude some joined polylines, arcs etc. The problem is some of them are extruding as a solid, which is what I want and some are extruding as a surface of the profile. I am a little but confused by this and any help wiould be appreciated Thanks Iain
MSasu
You will get a solid by extrusion operation only if the base entity is a closed one; other will get a surface. But is this feature available in version 2002? I recall that non-closed entities were rejected in this version by EXTRUDE command.
iainlines
I now have 2007. I thought that might be the problem but it is a closed entity...I can hatch it and select it as one thing
iainlines
Sorted it. Exploded the object the pedit/multiple/small fuzz distance Thanks
MSasu
So the issue was that the entity was't actually closed. Glad that you got this solved. Maybe a good idea to update your profile too with the new version of AutoCAD to avoid further confusions.
JD Mather
presspull might have been a better solution than extrude

JD Mather
presspull can use a boundary consisting of lines, polylines, arcs, circles and splines
