j_mata Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Hi, I am experiencing some problems in getting a .dwg file I created in AutoCAD 2012 into Photoshop. Basically what I did was traced a jpg file (lots of detail) but now I want to bring that into Photoshop and put some color on it. I used the export option and saved as bmp but then the lines are all jagged (when I zoom in, the detailed features and various lines get blurry, I can see the pixels). Is there any other way to be able to use the work I already did in AutoCAD? I would not like to start my work from scratch in Photoshop. Thanks a lot. Quote
bill_borec Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 J, Welcome to the forum! Through the plot window you can (should be able to) select "dwg to webjpg"...this will "export" a .jpg of what ever you select. Hope this helps! Quote
j_mata Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Thanks for the prompt reply Bill! Could you further explain where can I find that option? I am trying the plot option that is under Print. I also checked out the Publish option but I cannot find a jpg option anywhere. Thanks. Quote
Cad64 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I always plot to .eps format: http://www.cadtutor.net/tutorials/autocad/autocad-to-photoshop.php Quote
Blackfish Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 .ESP, as Cad64 suggested, is much better, but you can print to PDF as well and than open it in Photoshop without any problem Quote
