Diast Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 We are going from XP to Win7 shortly. This means re-installing our C3D. Is there a way to save our Workspace settings to our network so we don't have to go thru the hassle of putting everything back together piecemeal? Thanks, D Quote
nestly Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 If you're only concerned about the "workspaces" you need only copy any .cuix files you've modified. After you've installed AutoCAD on the new machine, simply replace the OOTB (out of the box) .cuix files with those from your existing machines. If however, you want your drafting settings, background colors, crosshair size, etc to be transfered to the new machines, you also have to copy over profiles. If you're simply going from C3D 2010 to C3D 2010 on a different machine, I personally suggest you use the Migration wizard as shown in the video below Quote
BIGAL Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Dont forget if your using a custom profile to make a copy of the new Autocad desktop icon and change the /p yourprofile to point to your profile. To make life easy we put the cuix and arg into \users makes any changes to the config paths easy did this prior to changing to new box. Quote

That particular youtube video is for the 2012 version and not available on 2010 but I did look up "migration" in my help section and I believe there is enough info to get it done. If not, then I will be back with questions. IF they pull the trigger on getting the upgrade that is. Quote
