I have never used the LT versions of ACAD, but one of the main differences that I have heard about is that LT is only 2D, whereas ACAD is 2D and 3D. Also, LT used to not be able to run LISP, so it's not as customizable as the full blown ACAD.

We're running 2000 LT here -- no express tools, no image attachments (you can see the images, but you can't change the path or attach/detach it), no object snap tracking...as far as I'm concerned, if you don't do much 3d work, the main difference is in drafting speed. I feel like I'm a lot faster using a full version, just from the express tools and better snap control. Don't know if that's worth the upgrade cost...wish it was, though. :-)

No 3D solids or faces (but you can do your own 3d wireframes),
renderings, lisp, database intergration, very limited raster file usage (importing rasters that is), no express tools, exporting is limited (only .wmf - full can do more) and on...

Look at the AutoCAD LT site, it lists all the differences.
