I am working with an inventor file of two mating parts.
one dimension on each of the parts. (the mating dimension) is run by parametrics from an excel file. (created by a previous employee who no longer works here)

when the spreadheet is updated to the new size, one part immediately asks for an update, and then the drawing file (for the one part) updates.
however the second part and the second sheet to the drawing for the second part, does not update.

somehow this link was lost can anyone help me to re-link (for lack of a better term) the link to the part?
thanks in advance

Have you searched for "links" in the help file ? There's a ton of stuff in there for AutoCad.

Is it a derived component ?

Threads are linked to spreadsheets as well.

The point was that if there is info about links in AutoCad there might be for inventor. Just trying to help.

Yes, i have been all over the help files and cant seem to figure it out.
I do not know about derived components, but i dont think it is.

Like i said, one part that is also in the same spreadsheet is updating. ther other isnt.
I have updated the links, deleted and reattached links and everything, it is really frustrating.
thank you all though for the diligent responses.
