dgurion Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Is there any way that I can set the display settings to only display lines or objects on a certain plane? Like, for example. I have a plan drawn on Z elevation 0. And I want to draw another "level" on Z elevation +10. Is there any way to have AutoCAD display just the items/lines on Z +10? Thank you. Quote
Dadgad Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are trying to do with ELEVATION, that which is typically done through LAYERS, and LAYER FILTERS? If you are talking about display in a viewport, there is the added option of VIEWPORT FREEZING certain layers. I just realized you have posted this in the lisp thread. No doubt if there was a real demonstrable need it could be done with REACTORS, about which I know less than nothing. Quote
Lee Mac Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I should think by far the easiest solution would be to construct the 'levels' on different layers and freeze / turn off the layers that you don't want to be visible (layerstates may be used for this purpose). Quote
dgurion Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Thanks for the replies. I am aware that I can use layers, and layer states to achieve this, and that is what I currently do. But, I used to work for a company that had this kind of set up. And I'm looking to recreate this functionality. If anyone can point me in the right direction. That would be great. Thanks! Quote
irneb Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Trick is to use named views with front and/or back clipping. Strange how the same question is asked in two different forums in one day: http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?142118-Display-Settings Quote
