Script using design center

Hi All, I have never written a script but I figure this task is a good place to start. We currently have almost 8,000 files that all use different dimension styles, leader styles, layers and layouts. (All before I got here) I have successfully used the design center to where we can open an old drawing then go through and add all of the new 'standard styles, layouts, and layers'

My question is, can I write a script that will add all of these at once. It is not that it is that terrible of a job to do, but like I said my thought is it will be a good way to learn more about scripts, and we have a lot of drawings this needs to happen with.
