BelCAD Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Hello, My problem, i'm drawing electric plans and need to update in many drawings the attributes of the outlet blocks. These outlet blocks have attributes for there number, mounting hight, type etc.. In older drawings the attribute for number and hight are defined "by block" but in the new we need this to be on the color yellow. Now here is the problem; with battman you can do all that, but if you apply, then all the attributes orientate to the mother block. This is the big problem because these attributes are always moved to another location or orientation for optimal readability of the electric plans. We used to have a program where there was a function to swap a block with another block and asked to match attributes, color, orientation etc... was super. Just insert the new block, select the old ones that needed to be changed and it worked perfect. But since we now use MEP we no longer have this function and it's a pain. If someone could help me with this one, that would be super!! Thanks in advance for the brain picking... Edited September 20, 2012 by BelCAD Quote
Dadgad Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I would be surprised if Lee Mac doesn't have a lisp on his amazing site to help you, I'm just not sure which would be the right one. http://www.lee-mac.com/programs.html#general Thanks Lee! Quote

BelCAD Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Hello Lee, Great stuf!! Thanks alot! This helps big time. Question, since i'm often replacing the old blocks with new ones do you also have a solution for that one so when i select a block to be replaced with a new one it then asks to keep orientation and colour(or ability to change colour) of the attribute? Any idea where to start if i want to learn LISP programming, did you have previous other language knowledge? Thanks in advance again for your hard work! Quote

Question, since i'm often replacing the old blocks with new ones do you also have a solution for that one so when i select a block to be replaced with a new one it then asks to keep orientation and colour(or ability to change colour) of the attribute? Try the BLOCKREPLACE Express Tools command. Quote
