What exactly is contained in a AutoCAD profile(ARG file)? It would be really useful to know what settings you may have to reset, should you need to install your profile again. The ARG file is too combersome to wade through to work out whats missing

Don't even bother trying to decode your profile, just export it to another folder not in the ACAD install folder, and you can simply import it whenever you want. I keep my profile, custom menus, and LISP routines in a different folder than the ACAD folder. By doing this, if I have to uninstall then reinstall ACAD, then all is not lost because all I have to do is put the folder in my ACAD support path, import my profile, and do a menuload for my menus, and then I'm ready to roll. If you keep your profile in the default location, it will be deleted in an uninstall.
