selection setting

I'm not sure if I accedently changed this setting.

I am using 2006 w/ MS xp.

When I try to select an entity it shaows up dashed to let me know i've selected it.

It is not becoming dashed after i've selected it now. How can I change that setting?

Set HIGHLIGHT to 1.

Sometimes lines/polylines of dashed linetypes, small scale, do not appear to highlight when selected.
