I am new to Autocad. I'm using 2002. I have two different sized circles. There are seperated apart. I need to construct a line that is tangent to both circles (along the circumference).

Hello Glenn!
Enter LINE <enter> at the command prompt (you may press just L, or click the apropriate button, or use the pull down menu DRAW > LINE). AutoCAD will promopt you to select the first point. Enter TAN <enter> and move the mouse cursor ower the first circle. The cursor should change: now it is a circle with a tangent line. Moving the mouse along the circle the cursor will follow you. When the cursor is about in the right place for the first point of the line, press your mouse button (the left one). Now you are prompted for the second point of the line. Enter again TAN <enter> and move the mouse ower the second circle. Click when it is OK.
