The office I am currently working at uses autocad 2004. The font we use for normal text is architxt.shx, shortcuts to get "special characters" like plus minus or the diameter symbol work for this font. When I try to get these special characters in a dimension string they don't work. Any reason why or is there something I need to do. We used to use archquick.shx font and the special characters worked for both plain text and dimension strings.
