ok...total noob question here. I have an existing drawing. The UCS icon is rotated as well as my cursor. With ortho on while trying to draw a box, its not vertical and horizontal like it normally is, its drawn at the ucs rotation. I have checked the snapang and its already set to 0, so now I am confused. I've set the ucs to world and still nothing. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

Set UCS to World
Run the PLAN command, press <enter> twice
Set SNAPANG to 0.0

i usually turn OFF the ucsicon in making 3d..for me it will just make me confused by looking at the ucs icon and the same time looking at drawing itself, while should be focusing only to the 3d drawing. imagine yourself doing a much complicated 3d drawing and the same time looking at ucs icon, figuring how would be the direction, wheter vertical or horizontal?then analyse the drawing again??heheheh

i turn off the ucs..and stop bothering it.it will make you faster and efficient in drawing in 3d, no matter how complicated it is.

just look at the cursor, how it changes its direction.then try how lines are being directed with the current cursor.

i ussually used this command with the ucs being turn OFF:

ucs>orthographic>top/bottom/front/left/right( i look a 3d drawing as a box, that has top, bottom, front, left, right) - then change the cursor accordingly...

and

ucs>move (if lines doesnt follow vertical or horizontal)

Some people use the ucs>new, to specify its origin, but it will just take you time to anaylse it first, especially locating the x,y,z direction..but you can do this, also an option for you.
