when working in paperspace, i sometimes accidentally click the mspace (by double clicking)or the drawing inside the viewport, and cannot go back to paperspace.whenever i pan the drawing the drawing moves itself, instead of the whole paper i want to move..
is there a command for this to return back to paperspace? or should i just undo it???
tnx :)

Try typing "ps"
But if you have already panned in MS you'll want to undo that first.

I find that clicking the buttons down at the bottom (grid, osnap, etc) not only switches faster than double clicking in and out of the vp, but prevents that sort of unhappiness

You might also want to think about locking your viewport.

i actually draw while in paperspace.... i just maximize the viewport. it comes in handy when you're dealing with multiple layout tabs, because you can switch between them quickly, and the ability to freeze each viewport accordingly is very nice, so you don't have to keep freezing/thawing layers. it saves it via each viewport.

You can also lock the viewport. Rightclick on a viewport gives you that option or highlight the viewport then change its locked proprties in the properties window. Or -vports.

Uh, yeah . . . I thought I mentioned that already.
You might also want to think about locking your viewport.

how do you lock the viewport so that it can't be panned? I lock the viewports always now, but I can still pan and zoom IF I am indeed in the viewport, so the accidental double clicking into it still makes it get farged ... [hope I shouldn't have posted a new topic for this][hope even moreso that the answer isn't already 2 topics down!] :?

You can't pan inside the viewport once its locked - thats the whole point of locking it. Click on the viewport then bring up properties - in the misc section there is the option for locking your viewport.
