I have been having trouble using autocad 2007 in 2D format. I was wondering if anyone else has had any problems. I have tried everything I can think of but just cannot get it to change to 2D format. any ideas would be great.

Have you tried opening a new drawing based on the 3D template?

When you start a new drawing does it prompt you for which template to use?

Click on the new icon at top left of the pull down menu's then it should allow you to choose the 3d template. See if this works.

when i click on the "new" icon nothing happens. it doesnt ask me for anything. when i start a new drawing it doesnt give me options for a template... it doesnt give me options for anything.

i'm working on my mobile so I can't try this at the moment, but type startup at the command line and change the variable to the opposite of what it is now (if it's 0 make it 1). This should allow you to choose a template, then try my last suggestion again.
