Anybody know if there's a way I can convert mtext to text without losing the justification? We have tons of text in tables, justified middle-center, that could just as well be single-line text because it IS only one line. However, when you explode mtext, it all becomes left-justified and the insertion points change. Is there any way around this? (No lisps -- running 2000i LT).
Thanks,
Kate

I know you can convert DTEXT to MTEXT by using the express tools but as for the other way around I dont know.I guess you cant load the express tools either for the LT version. :( Why do you wnat to convert the text to DTEXT?I think MTEXT is far superior!

I agree -- for text that actually has multiple lines! I just saw a column schedule, though, where every column letter and number, and every column size, was in mtext, even though most of them were only one character. Editing the beam sizes took waaaay longer in mtetxt, because the window takes longer to open and close -- slow to open, and you can't just hit enter to close...except for stuff like this, I'm a big fan of mtext too, but single-line (or letter!) mtext really drives me nuts. :-)

Explode the mtext. Select all the resulted text lines and change the justification from a single snap using the properties window (ctrl+1).
It is easy to select all the text to change using the "quick select" tool -also located in the properties window.

Theres now a new tool in CAD 2K4 that alolows you to justify your text, called JUSTIFYTEXT.You just select the text u want and specify the justification. You were talking about getting CAD2K4 werent you Kate M ?You also see that the MTEXT eidtor will open and close faster, its transparent and you can actually edit the text in place.
