I have recently been able to upgrade to 2004 and am about to start putting together some landscape layouts. Does any one know of any good, new, exciting, funky 'features' that may be of help' that would other wise take a while to come across? things like gradient hatch, text along splines etc..

Here is one I started on...(do I ever finish anything?? )
It was a LT2002 sample drawing that I was playing with a few months ago.

Edit: Don't let the bad image of this .gif fool you. It looks better on the screen. :)

The drawing looks good. Can you tell me how the building 'gradient' hatch was done??? The sketch command for me was a major find, as you are able to to draw planting beds with out using straight lines.

Gradient hatchesare now part of AutoCAD 2004's standard hatching. Go to Hatch and you will see a gradient tab. Yes, the sketch command can come in handy. Just play with the software. Good luck :)

I have been playing with the gradient hatch and am wondering if there is a way of using gradent hatch on a pattern type, eg dots?

Now that would be handy!!

Sure, why not try a hatch over a hatch? It should work. In fact, I'll try it right now.....(starts 2004).

Looks like it will work :)
