changing contents of group

I've noticed that once I create a group, I can't use the same name for that group for another group. What if I wanted to change the contents of a group while keeping the same name? I don't seem to have an option for doing that.

Groups behave quiet differently to blocks. Even when you copy them.

I used them a long time ago and got annoyed with the way the behaved.
