Begining January 15, 2004, Autodesk is retiring AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD 2000 based products. After January 15, 2004, ACAD 2k-based cutomers will not be able to upgrade or crossgrade to a current release; this affects: LT, MDT4, ADT2, Overlay 2000, etc..

This really chaps my a$$ since it seems Autodesk is forcing users to upgrade too often. I understand a company will not be able to support a program indefinately, but before I get on my soap-box and begin griping, what do you guys think about this? Wasn't it just last year in January that they discontinued r14?

The fact that customers will not be able to upgrade is apauling. How many companies out there would be temtped to upgrade but have left it too late and will be totally put off having to buy the full version. The fact that they could've upgraded and not broken their budget is a shame.Doesnt this mean that if a small company finds the financial gap too large to bridge, there will be more companies out temtped to use unliscensed copies?
