I'm running LT 2005. It seems like whenever I select over 40 or fifty items, whether by dragging a window or any of the other selction methods, after I preform the operation (move, copy, ect.) only a few of the items have moved. I have to go back and reselect the rest of the objects and redo the command. Anybody else had this problem?

TIA,

Richard

Do the objects move after selecting them the second time? otherwise its sounds very much liek they are on a locked layer.

Other than that check to see if there are multiple copies of the same objects on top of each other, if had loads of drawings from architects where there are two, three and sometimes four of the same line on top of each other. If this is the case you could be moving one of the objects and leaving their copies in place.

If its neither of these things im not sure what to suggest.

Over to the others....

Thanks mrgrotey. Alas, it is not locked layers or multiple objects on top of each other. I first noticed it after the upgrade from LT 2004 to LT 2005. Guess I'll try posting to Autodesk's official forum and see what they say.

Others have posted that if you pna/zoom etc while selecting you lose those objects that have moved outside the view. Is this what's happening? I don't believe a fix for that was found.

Oh yeah forgot about that one, Ive had that problem before, its when you pan halfway through drawing the selection window.

CarlB is correct. If you pan during the selecting process, it only acts upon the last objects that were on the screen when you finish selecting. I don't recall ever running into this before. One more mystery explained.

Thanks to all responders,

Richard :)
