View Full Version : LT2005 plotting takes ages

I'm running LT2005 on XP, and plotting seems to take about 5 minutes from me clicking on the OK button to the plotter/printer whirring into action.

At times, after waiting the 5 minutes, a warning bubble comes up and the plot report says that the plot has been cancelled. I noticed that this happens when I try view other Windows applications (ie: Windows Explorer, Outlook, etc.), but it also happens when I just twiddle my thumbs and don't do anything.

It doesn't seem to matter which printer/plotter I use, or even if it's just to plot a drawing out as a pdf, it's always the same. I know 5 minutes ain't much (yeah right), but if I have a set of 10 drawings to plot, that's 50 minutes wasted and I can't even surf the net while waiting.

Anyone have any ideas?

It might have something to do with print spooling. Spooling should speed things up, but I remember it actually taking longer to be able to get into the print dialog box to set up the next drawing.

Sorted! Cheers!

It was the "background printing" option that did it. Turned it off and problem solved.
