I was using autocad 2000(full) and when i would copy and paste an excel spread sheet in my drawing using "paste - autocad entities" and it would paste in the line i have in the spreadsheet (not the spreadsheet lines but a line that was created in excel) made and the data.

now i am using autocad 2005 and autocad 2007 (both full versions) and when i do the same it pastes in the data (and the spread sheet lines that i do not want) but not my nice line that was around the spreadsheet and the data is not even lined up.

does anyone know how to change this to make it copy and paste like autocad 2000 so i do not have to keep opening projects in autocad 2000 just to paste in some spreadsheets (only reason i still have autocad 2000 on my PC)??

I can email pictures if it would help.

Thank You in advance.

I posted this in the beginners area also by accident. o:)

Your spreadsheet is coming in as a TABLE object. You will need to create a Table Style to reflect how you want to the table to appear in AutoCAD. Do this in your template drawing and it will always be there.

If you want your spreadsheet to look *exactly* like it does in Excel, take a look at XL2CAD from http://www.dotsoft.com/xl2cad.htm
