View Full Version : Error handler reentered

The PC died on me at the office, so there was a bit of a migration exercise between the harddisk of the dead PC and another (probably about to die) PC.

Anyway, I had to reinstall LT2005 but on startup an "Error handler reentered" error message pops up and ACAD closes down. I can't figure it out.

I checked the Autodesk knowledge base and it seemed to suggest that it's an issue with insufficient RAM, but there's 1GB on the system and about 50GB free disk, so surely not.

Anyone help?

I'm feeling a wee bit ignored here..

Done a few things to try to resolve, but to no avail - complete reinstall, cleaning registry before reinstalling, disabling background applications before reinstalling..

The Autodesk discussion group doesn't seem to offer any help either. In fact one guy posted a similar question back in 2004 and it's never got a reply (http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4039723). Am I doomed to suffer the same fate?

Thanks!

Yeah, I've seen that one and yes, I've turned off all Asian language options in Windows. It's still a problem though. Mind you, that guy's question was with the error message popping up as he was closing ACAD. It might be the same issue or it could be something completely different, but the problem I have is as ACAD is being launched.

I know this might sound strange, but it may be a problem with the install disk. Try copying it and installing from the copied disk or copying it to the hard drive first, then installing from there. Other things to look at are the differences in hardware from the dead PC to the install PC.

Thanks!

The 2 PCs are identical, though the "new" one that I'm trying to install LT2005 on has the old PC's harddisk on it, but that shouldn't cause any problems should it?

I tried copying the CD onto the local harddisk and installing it from there, but the problem persists...
