Jaxom Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Anyone else notice that the AutoCAD 2007 templates are not compatible with AutoCAD 2006? Is there a way to work around this since there's evidently no option to tell AutoCAD 2007 to save the template as an earlier version. Quote
TTALBOT Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 You could always save it as a 2006 DWG, and then use 2006 to open it and save it as a template. Quote
Jaxom Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 We already saved the the DWT to an earlier version DWG, but I was more concerned with when we send the template out to someone who doesn't have 2007, I'm not sure if e-transmit will save DWTs to a format supported by earlier releases of AuotoCAD like it does with the DWGs. TTALBOT Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 No clue. I've never used E-Transmit. I would just send them the template as a 2000 version DWG and they could save it to a DWT themselves from any platform they want. No sense getting too specific when you know some guy is probably still running 2002 on his machine. Quote
jm7472 Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 We too have this same problem. We have quite strict procedures on the use and control of drawing templates and need a resolution to this one. ANybody got any clues as to how we can use templates created in 2007 in older versions? Quote

ANybody got any clues as to how we can use templates created in 2007 in older versions? 1. open the template 2. saveas the drawing down to a previous version 3. close down your drawing 4. open windows explorer 5. navigate to where you just saved your drawing 6. change the extension .dwg to .dwt Quote
