Having recently got to grips with the new aspects of 2004 (2d), and previousley using Lt I am now attempting to lean a bit about 3d for the first time.
I am looking to model my garden in 3d, shed, trees, fences posts etc and would appreciate any tutuorials that anyone could suggest. I have had a look at the Rel 14 tutorials on this web site but things seem a bit different.
Any help would be appreciated, do i need to wireframe, surface model, solid modelling etc.?????????? :?
Thanks

At the risk of upsetting MrT (again?), Solid Modelling is the way to go. Surfaces are good for some things but start with solids.
Start by creating some simple primitives (spheres, boxes etc.) - use 3DOrbit to view them. Then try the Extrude command and then play around with the Boolean commands (Union, Subtract and Intersect). If you master these few things, you're most of the way there.
After that, you need to get to grips with UCS so that you can extrude in different directions.
Although the tutorials on the CADTutor site are from earlier versions of AutoCAD, the Basic 3D (http://www.cadtutor.net/acad/acadr14/3d-basic/3d-basic.html)and UCS (http://www.cadtutor.net/acad/acadr14/ucs/ucs.html) tutorials are still worth looking at as the basic concepts have not changed.

Actually as i have said in my previous posts,
http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=274&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=surfaces solids
and chatting with Rob F, teaching Solids then surfaces is easier since surfaces are harder to learn n teach !. Covering the UCS manipulation and UCS entry first is easier as well with solids.
