Does Intel845 support Nvidia 6600?

Hi all! ...I'm planning to upgrade to a video card (preferably the Nvidia Geforce 6600), but am not sure if it is compatible with my current configuration. Have a look...

ASUS P4GE MX Motherboard (with Intel845 chipset)
AGP slot compatible with 4x mode
512MB Installed RAM,
Pentium 4 Processor, 2.40GHz
Windows XP Professional (SP2)

So, should I... ?? :oops: o:)

yeah it'll work, but that motherboard is a socket 478 with an AGP video expansion slot.... so make sure you you get the AGP version of that card. you can get a GeForce 6600 AGP slot at www.newegg.com or anywhere similar. :-)

I honestly would not spend the money on a 6600 card for a 4x AGP board. That is an 8X card and you will never get the full performance with a 4x board. Sorry :(

I just installed a 6600 256 mb card at home and it rocks! The da*n card needed a power connection used by a optical/hard drive!!

You should be able to find one of those for pretty cheap. Too bad you are half the world away, I have a spare GF4 MX440 64 mb 4x card I could part with cheap :(
