Plotstamp Fields in read only!!

I hope someone can help with my problem as below.
The problem is with the "Plotstamp" on drawings in paper space , for AutoCad LT, 2004 when you open the plot box, tick the Plot Stamp, and go to Plot Stamp setting all the Plot Stamp Fields are Read only.
And if you try the Command prompt, "-plotstamp" this comes up "current plot stamp file or directory is read only (ok/cancel) I have put in both with no change to the read only fields.
Please can anyone tell me how to turn the read only off so I can amend the fields.

can you not open the actual plot stamp file that is read-only, then Save As... another file name that is not read-only?...then use the newer version?

You may need to Load the "Plot Stamp Parameter File".

I reloaded mm.pss.
And it seems to work alright, don't know way it went to read only in the first place!!
