Hello all,

In my line of work (civil drafting), im constantly having to use the 0,0 for copying, xreffing or blocking out so that all consultants are working on the same coordinate system. After awhile it gets annoying having to type '0,0', is there a way just to make having to type '0,0' to just being 'o' for origin, or any other ideas. I know this is a long shot question but if anyone else has similar annoyances and has had a solution, please let me know.

Cheers

Hi, not sure about making a keyboard button do it (although the later versions of CAD may now allow you to customise the shortcuts) but you can create a custom toolbar button that just inputs 0,0 into the command prompt when ckicked on. Ive tried this while using a couple of commands and it seems to work fine but would probably take a bit of getting used to.

Hope this is at least the start of a solution :)

Try this (AUtoCAD 2004):

Create toolbar with button named "ORIGIN"
Macro associated with this button: 0,0,0
Assign keyboard shortcut, for example Ctrl+Shift+Z, to that button
That's all!

try to draw line and press Ctrl+Shift+Z when AutoCAD asks for first point

Hope this is what you wanted!
