Hi! I was just wandering through the site and found a small "problem" under the Attatchments section (in my User CP). When I switch to Show Thumbnails option, I dont see any thumbnails (as shown in the following screenshot)... I'll be checking it again, though!
Rest all seems to be more than amazing! I'm impressed, Tutor!

You are right. It looks as though this may be a limitation of the vBulletin attachment system. We can either have images displayed full size in posts and lose the thumbnails in the User CP or have thumbnails displayed in both posts and User CP but not the ideal solution which would be to have full size images in posts and thumbnails in the User CP.:(
I have posted a question at the vBulletin forum and will let you know the result.
Obviously, I'm still getting used to vBulletin and there may be a few of these type of wrinkles. Thanks for pointing it out.

Eew! I just noticed that when I jump to the CADTutor - AutoCAD Forums page, the posts (that I've already read) do not get updated and still keep displaying the New Post Icon. However, if I exit level by level, the problem gets solved.
Suppose I log in and am in the CADTutor AutoCAD Forum (the default one), there I see (say) Feedback forum has a new post (indicated by the bright icon). I click on the Feedback link, goto the new post, click on it, read it, then...
25
1. if I click directly on the CADTutor - AutoCAD Forums link, the bright icon reappears! ...this gives an impression of a newer post, which actually has been read.
2. if I click on Feedback, let the Feedback forum open, then click on CADTutor, let that open, then click on CADTutor - AutoCAD Forums, the problem gets solved.
It seems I'm having a bad day today...  ...anyways, you check it out. Maybe it's just with me.

This is a known issue. The reason is that to keep server loads down to a reasonable level, the forums and your read markers are not updated instantly. This would require many reads and writes to and from the database. vBulletin caches these queries and makes an update periodically, usually every few minutes. It's not perfect but there is a balance to be struck when we have so many new features.
I see you are usin the vBulletin default style. Do you prefer it to the CADTutor default style?

I see! ...anyways, I have no problem following the longer route! :D It's okay with me!

Both styles are good. Its just that the vBulletin default style looks familiar to the old CadTutor form (blue ambience) and it matches with my Windows Skin!!

Whenever I logout and view threads consisting of images, I am presented with the link for the file instead of the actual image on the page. :glare: If I'm logged in, then the images show-up nicely.
It seems all the "attachments" are having this issue, while as the files that were uploaded using the file manager (in the earlier CADTutor version) still show-up! :geek:
err... Is there a setting which I'm unaware of??

Actually, that's exactly as it should be. Forum members have a number of priviliges over guests. One is that they cannot view image attachments except by clicking on the link. This has 2 benefits for the forum: 1. it reduces bandwidth - we have a lot of guest users and if they want to see an image they can click the link. 2. It's an incentive to become a member and join the community. You'll notice that none of the community forums are visible to guests. The older images are still viewable because they are not part of the same attachment system.

okay, that means it's a programmed behavior... then it's fine. :) I was about to blame my ISP for that...!!
