i'm using AutoCAD 2000. I'm wondering if it's possible to rotate a rendered model so that the textures don't disapear. It gets frustrating with large models to render over and over again. Takes too much time.

In ACAD 2k, you can't rotate a rendered object, but you can rotate a shaded object (by rotate, I am assuming you mean orbit). Quick tip: first select your object so that the grips are higlighted, then after you start the orbit command, right click and choose "more" > zoom extents. Now your object will revolve around it's center instead of going out into space.

It's possible to hav materials lights and shadows on LIVE when editing and inlcuding 3d orbit. See an example from the post here

I applied wood and glass while modelling.
If you want to turn this on and you have a small model then
post back and I'll tell you how to.
