Solids stretching in a Block Definition

I want to create a Block that has a 3D railing, which I can easily place and stretch along edges of my floors, so you cannot fall off. So I created the 3D railing in a block and tried to add stretch parameters to it. But alas, even though Autocad 2007 supports block editing, I don't think it supports stretching of a solid in a block...

Am I doing something wrong? Or is what I want only possible using a script? (I'm not so familiar with scripts, so I hoped to avoid it...)

I don't think AutoCAD supports 3D objects in dynamic blocks yet. Don't know much about scripts, but I don't think that's it either...sorry. Presspull sounds like your best option (from my limited 2007 knowledge).
